Check out official photos from HBO’s Game of Thrones documentary, The Last Watch
Game of Thrones is over…pretty much. HBO is airing a documentary called The Last Watch about the making of the final season this Sunday, letting all the fans visit Westeros (or the sounds stage where it’s created) one last time.
The Last Watch will chronicle “the behind-the-scenes creation of the series’ final season through the lens of the show creators, cast, and crew,” per HBO. The network has new released a bunch of official photos from the documentary. Let’s have a look.
First up is some very cool key art. This looks like the team filming the sack of King’s Landing in “The Bells”:
Here’s executive producer Chris Newman looking over what appears to be the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia, a city that has stood in for King’s Landing since near the beginning of the show.
Newman and co-executive producer Bernadette Caulfield go over the scripts for the season. Or the schedule. I’m not psychic.
Director David Nutter (“Winterfell,” “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” and “The Last of the Starks”) looks at a script while on location at Winterfell.
Locations manager Naomi Liston presides over the set on a rainy day.
Special effects snow crew supervisor Del Reid prepares for scenes at Winterfell.
Notice the spiked ditch in the background. The dead are coming.
