First up, let’s take a look at who we got right in the series finale, “The Iron Throne.”

1. Daenerys Targaryen: 95%. Look, we’re all about Game of Thrones surprising us with twists and turns, but after burning down King’s Landing, Daenerys has to die, right? We don’t have two more seasons, or even two more episodes, for justice to be served. It’s now or never.

Well, we nailed this one right on the head. Not that it was a bold prediction given how the season had unfolded. Still, Dany died quicker than we anticipated. We also anticipated Grey Worm or Drogon doing something more about her death, perhaps even dying while seeking vengeance, but Drogon only burned the Iron Throne and Grey Worm showed surprising restraint in keeping Jon and Tyrion prisoner until a council of people from throughout the Seven Kingdoms could decide their fates, leaving Dany as the sole casualty of the episode.

Overall, season 8 killed a lot of characters, despite complaints in episodes like “The Long Night” that it was pulling its punches. Maybe it still wasn’t enough?

In any case, things shook out mostly how we thought they would, death-wise, although the deaths didn’t always come about in the manner we predicted. Let’s take a look at a few of the highlights!
