12 Game of Thrones sequel series we want to see
5. KING BRAN PRESENTS: THE HISTORIES OF WESTEROS
You can just see it, can’t you? The roaring fire, the smoking pipe and a glass of wine on the table (untouched, of course, but effective ambience). Bran is seated in his wheelchair. His eyes roll out of white, he gives the camera his patented enigmatic smile, and sets the scene for the chapter of Westerosi history we’re about to witness.
What a powerful anthology sequel this could be for Game of Thrones fans. Via Bran’s greensight and warging abilities, the show could tackle any chapter from George R.R. Martin’s sprawling pre-Thrones history. Who wouldn’t want to see Rheagar Targaryen fall to Robert Baratheon at the Battle of the Trident, Davos Seaworth’s smuggling career or the events surrounding the Children of the Forest’s decision to create the Night King?
The sequel could also tackle events that occurred offscreen during the the original show, like the death of the Blackfish, the adventures of Drogon in the ruins of Valyria or a ghostly encounter with Lady Stoneheart.
With thousands of years of Westeroi history to plumb for story fodder, “King Bran Presents” could top the ratings for decades. We could grow old with Bran, comfortable in our cushy chairs, journeying through the complicated past of the Seven Kingdoms.
