7. SAMWELL TARLY, M.D. (MAESTER DEFIANT)

This ER-style spinoff stars Samwell Tarly as the head medical officer overseeing all medical issues and emergencies in King’s Landing and beyond. Medieval Westeros is a violent and dangerous place, so broken bones and serious injuries are common, not to mention plague.

Aside from killing White Walkers and a Thenn, Sam has an impressive medical resume that includes healing Jorah Mormont from the effects of greyscale. Constantly studying, he is also a vast repository of healing and historical knowledge. The series would also focus on his domestic life with Gilly and Little Sam.

Episodes could include the King’s Landing hospital dealing with brutal injuries incurred by participants in a jousting competition, frantically servicing hundreds of victims of a tower collapse and/or attempting to solve the mystery of poisoned wells multiplying in the capital.

We could also envision a horrific plague hitting King’s Landing, killing thousands, and now both Gilly and Little Sam are infected. Desperate, Sam knows the disgraced former Maester Qyburn’s old research books hold secrets to defeating the disease, but the methods of the cure push the edges of ethical and moral responsibility. What’s a doctor to do?
