Joy and pain: Fans react to George R.R. Martin’s new video game project

When George R.R. Martin was named as a story consultant on FromSoftware’s action role-playing game Elden Ring, some A Song of Ice and Fire readers blinked. Desperately awaiting the release of the last two books in Martin’s series, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring, fans saw his Elden Ring participation as an unwanted distraction from completing his epic fantasy novels.
