The Magicians season 4 ended on a sad note, as a major character sacrificed himself to save his friends and their ability to use magic. That character won’t be returning, but his friends are. Production on season 5 of SyFy’s hit show has begun.

When last we saw Fen, she was the High King of Fillory. Will she still be around 300 years into the future, which is where our heroes found Fillory at the end of season 4? Well, Brittany Curran is back, so maybe?

An odd choice. Is Jennifer Anniston joining the cast for season 5? Is she directing? Judging by the watermark, the old kind of cigarette Anniston is smoking (Merits), and the #vintageAniston (sic) hashtag, this is an old photo…but why is it here at all? Mystery!

What will The Magicians season 5 be like? Beyond the surprise Friends cameos, I mean? “[T]here’s more magic on Earth than there was cocaine on Wall Street in the ‘80s,” promises McNamara. I’m here for that. The Magicians will return in 2020 with all new episodes.
