Now that Game of Thrones is over forever, the cast and crew are moving on to new projects. Case in point: concept artist Kieran Belshaw is taking his talents to a galaxy far, far away and working on the as-yet-untitled live-action prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which will be airing on Disney+ in the not-too-distant future. The show will follow rebel leader Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) as he — and I’m guessing here — fights agains the Empire.

According to Star Wars News Net, Belshaw posted a photo of assorted Rogue One books — plus the movie itself — to his Instagram, announcing he had a new project he had to study up on. He’s since removed the photo, because this is Disney and you don’t cross them, but this was the caption:

"I’m just starting work on a new tv series this week, getting some research in!! Can you guess what it is?"

Yes, Kieran, I think we can all guess. You’d figure that a guy who worked on Game of Thrones for years would be better about not posting spoiler-y images on social media. You know the studios crack down on that stuff.

In other news about upcoming live-action Star Wars news, eccentric German filmmaker Werner Herzog revealed why he really signed on to play a role in director Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian. Speaking to Vanity Fair, Herzog said he “had a very, very vague idea of what Star Wars was all about” before signing on. But why take on an acting role in something he knew little about? Quite simply, he needed the money. “The only thing I have not done so far [to make money for movies], is bank robbery,” he joked.

Apparently, Herzog wanted to fund his new movie: Family Romance, LLC, about a man hired to impersonate the missing father of a 12-year-old girl. Still, once he came on board The Mandalorian, Herzog was impressed. “I asked for the full screenplays, and I looked into the part, and it looked good and interesting,” he said. He also called the show “a phenomenal achievement” not long ago:

It sounds like he’ll be playing a villain, something he did on the Tom Cruise flick Jack Reacher. “The only reason for having me in the film is they needed somebody who would spread terror, and be frightening for the audience. I said, ‘Yes I think I can give you this stylization.’ It came with great ease.”

The Mandalorian stars former Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) in the titular role. It “follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
