Mike and Eleven’s budding relationship

Well, at least we hope it’s budding since we last left them in each other’s embrace at the school dance. Stranger Things gave us a win with that one, and it was worth the wait. But now that we’re heading into the third season, many of us are hoping to see this relationship blossom into something new and fresh.

I mean, just take a peek at the season 3 poster above: this love story has to be going well…right? I hope that, unlike in season 2 where these two characters spent most of their time apart, we see them interacting as a couple in season 3, and exploring how their dynamic fits into the larger group.

Will the rest of the circle welcome it? Will it make things awkward? Or is everyone indifferent about it? When you’re kids, it’s always weird to see your friends pair off. However, season 2 added another girl to the group with Max, so maybe it won’t be as bad as I’m imagining.

In any case, I definitely want to see how Mike and Eleven’s relationship can grow and be different from what we’ve seen already. It’s the first relationship for the both of them, so there are going to be cute, awkward moments to work through added on top of whatever demon they’ll be battling. Complicated doesn’t begin to cover it.
