Robin, the hero we didn’t deserve

Robin, (Maya Hawke, the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke) was my favorite new character in Stranger Things 3. She’s hilarious, smart, and a hugely welcome addition to an already-stellar cast. Not only does she stand out on her own, but her friendship with Steve made the season even better.

Not only does Robin bring more humor to the series, but her intelligence plays a big role in figuring out the season’s big Russian mystery. After Dustin intercepts Russian transmission on Cerebro and Steve realizes the transmission is actually coming from Hawkins, Indiana — not Russia — it’s Robin who figures out what everything means.

Robin’s stand-out moment comes after she translates the Russian transmission and has an epiphany about it all means as she darts around Starcourt Mall. The look of shock and triumph on her face says it all, and honestly, I was left pretty darn impressed. Of course, Robin is nothing without the talents of Maya Hawke, who did an absolutely wonderful job as a newcomer.

I don’t know about all of you, but I sure hope that WHEN we get a season 4, Hawke will return as Robin because I’m not sure if the show can go on without her.
