Will the fourth season take place during the holidays?

The first two seasons of Stranger Things both dropped around Halloween, and they were clearly meant to give off some seriously spooky vibes. And while season 3 manages to keep the spookiness, it gives off summer vibes instead, with the kids on summer vacation, Steve and Robin flinging ice cream nonstop, and the Fourth of July celebration building in the background.

We’ve yet to see the Stranger Things kids around Christmas, and the holidays could make a fun backdrop for the next season of the show. With Joyce, Will, Jonathan and Eleven moving away, it’s also a good excuse to drag them back to Hawkins — or to bring Mike and the others out to visit them.

And when Mike and Will say goodbye to one another at the end of this season, Mike does suggest that they’ll see each other again around Thanksgiving. That seems as good a hint as any, and we’d love to see what an ’80s Thanksgiving or Christmas celebration looks like — especially with Demogorgons on the loose.
