Shooting is currently underway on the pilot for Blood Moon, HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series. Set thousands of years before the original series, it will show us a very different Westeros, one before the Wall rose, before King’s Landing existed, and before dragons came to the continent’s shores. “[F]rom the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend,” reads HBO’s synopsis, “it’s not the story we think we know.”
Covering it, on the other hand, is pretty familiar. We’ve had a good time tracking the movements of the the show’s ensemble cast, including headliner Naomi Watts, seen here with a couple of fans in Gaeta, Italy:

Like Game of Thrones before it, Blood Moon is shooting in part at Titanic Studios in Northern Ireland, but the trip to Gaeta has been interesting. It looks like they’re shooting at some of the local landmarks.
But they can’t be shooting all the time. One of the cast members uploaded this…candid shot of a bunch of them hanging out in a hotel room in the city:

Those are cast members Alex Sharp (screaming in the foreground), Shiela Atim, Marquis Rodriguez, Toby Regbo (of The Last Kingdom and Reign fame) and Georgie Henley (Lucy in Disney’s Chronicles of Narnia movies, screaming in the background). Also present is actor Georgina Alice Campbell, who I hadn’t heard was in Blood Moon.
Anyway, I’m pretty much taking this as confirmation that Campbell is in Blood Moon, because why else would you be hanging out in a hotel room in Gaeta with a bunch of Blood Moon cast members? If these actors had been on Game of Thrones for a while already, they would know not to post this kind of potentially revealing post online, even on a service as ephemeral as Instagram Stories. The internet is forever.

There’s also a tiny boat-related update. About a week back, we shared these images of the Blood Moon crew rowing a specially adorned boat out to sea in Gaeta:
