The Prince of Dorne doesn’t get a name

During the council where Bran is proclaimed king because of stories (and let me tell you, if you didn’t like that speech, it doesn’t get any better here), the new Prince of Dorne shows up. We know this because he’s dressed in Dornish clothes, but he’s never introduced formally, he’s just there.

Benioff and Weiss don’t give him much more than that, just calling him “the new PRINCE OF DORNE.” For all the theorizing fans did about this character, there really wasn’t anything to him. Prepare your jokes about how the show messed up Dorne now.

Sansa and her uncle

After Sansa tells her uncle to take a seat, here’s what Edmure’s thinking. Note that we don’t get any detail into Sansa’s thought process, just Edmure’s:

"Edmure can’t quite believe what he’s seeing, but the chuckles and suppressed grins of the other lords make him realize that his newborn hopes of being king were just squashed by a girl."

A solid half of the reason that this deserves notice is because “by a girl” is in there. Now, you can argue that Edmure doesn’t see his niece as being a grown-up, but yikes. There’s no part of this that makes us think that Edmure sees this as a familial betrayal. Nope, it’s all about gender.

Deep sighs all around, Benioff and Weiss. Just … really?
