We thought we’d seen the last of Meera Reed, but in this sequel both she and the Reed family safeguard earth-shattering secrets regarding the hidden history of Westeros and the Three-Eyed Raven. As the eldest daughter of Howland Reed of Greywater Watch and a servant of the Old Gods, Meera is called upon to help find a way to rescue King Bran when he becomes irretrievably lost in his greensight visions, trapped there by a malevolent entity previously unknown to the people of Westeros.

The Reeds have long protected important secrets, including Howland’s alliance with Eddard Stark in the concealment of Jon Snow’s true identity. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, however, for we learn that the Reed bloodline, one of the purest blood links left to the First Men, knows much more about the Three-Eyed Raven and the Children of the Forest than anyone might have imagined. With her innate and powerful greenseer skills activated, Meera plunges into an alternate universe filled with wondrous and often dangerous beings as she quests to rescue Bran.

The Secrets of House Reed is also a love story, believe it or not. In a greensight plane of existence which may or may not be a trap, Meera discovers a version of Bran who’s emotionally able to love her. It ends up becoming a place neither of them ever wants to leave.
