The Red Priestess
Having spent time with the enigmatic Melisandre and the drunken, meat-and-potatoes Thoros of Myr, we’re somewhat familiar with the eclectic clergy who serve the faith of R’hllor. The priests and priestesses of the Lord of Light are a dominant force on Essos but stand out as a rare oddity on the continent of Westeros.
The Red Priestess follows the dangerous and magical journey of another Red Woman, a conflicted servant of the fire god who becomes influential over the kingdoms of Westeros and Essos as they rebuild following the end of Game of Thrones, but also trapped in a new generation of power struggles.

Mix in adventure, new realms, sensuality, horror, and a conflicted, ancient lead character with tons of heart, and you may well have a winner. And don’t forget: she’ll bring lots of magical shenanigans to the table, including shadowbinding, prophetic visions, fire magics, glamours and resurrection. Maybe Kinvara and Zanrush could show up and help out from time to time.
We all saw Melisandre dissolve in the wind at the end of “The Long Night,” a supernatural being allowed to pass into the otherworld once her earthly purpose was fulfilled. Who are these Red Women, exactly? In this show, we’ll find out the details that alluded us on Thrones.
