After the years of war and a long stint in the North, an older Jon Snow discovers the Dothraki have a new mighty Khal and plan to cross the Narrow Sea to attack Westeros once again. Seeking intelligence on the situation, Jon travels to Essos and purchases a popular tavern in the city of Meereen. Using the techniques he learned from Varys, Jon sets up a spy network while posing as a disinterested, expatriate bar owner.

The tavern, called The Ghost, becomes a hotbed of secrets, underground activity and dangerous intrigue. Daario Naharis, the Regent of the Bay of Dragons, becomes Jon’s friend and ally behind the scenes, though the men hide their partnership behind a facade of animosity. As Jon’s agents  slowly infiltrate the Dothraki leadership, he becomes romantically involved with a powerful khaleesi whom he both loves and cannot trust.
