Which parts of the Witcher books is Netflix going to adapt?

7. The Temple of Melitele
This shot of Geralt with the bandage across his chest, seems like a good fit for the framing story of the first Witcher book, “The Voice of Reason.” After Geralt is grievously wounded fighting the striga, he is taken to the Temple of Melitele to heal. In the book, Geralt’s time at the temple also serves as a deep, cathartic release as he revisits past wounds and experiences (which serves to introduce each short story). How heavily the show will lean into the mental aspect of Geralt’s healing remains to be seen…but from the choice of clip that accompanies this image of actor Henry Cavill bandaged up, we could definitely see a little bit of soul searching going on while he’s at the temple.
When this scene drops during the season seems pretty dependent on when the striga sequence happens. We haven’t had a casting announcement yet for Mother Nenneke (the head priestess of the temple and an important supporting character), but the show has numerous options it can go with. From the trailer, it looks like Geralt might be seeing Triss at the temple, which would be a departure from the source material. But then again, even bringing Triss in this early in the story is a pretty big departure, so she’s a bit of a wild card this season.
And will we see Geralt’s showdown with the knights, which ends the framing story and composes the final pages of The Last Wish? There was nothing to hint at it in the trailer, so it remains to be seen.
All in all, a lot more questions than answers, so far as Geralt’s stay at the Temple of Melitele is concerned.
