Disney’s D23 Expo was an absolute blast this year. If you were lucky enough to attend the panels, then you were among the first to see new footage from Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker (that Rey reveal, though) or the official trailer for The Mandalorian. But that’s not all D23 had to offer. Whether you wanted to get in line amongst other excited fans to get a sneak peak at Disney’s lineup of Marvel movies or check out the Disney+ app demo, there was something for everyone. Let me take you on a tour!
Something new this year that I particularly enjoyed was the Hulu Pavilion. I’ll be the first to say it was jarring to see a section about The Handmaid’s Tale amidst all things Disney.

This Is Us was a part of the Hulu Pavilion as well. I want to point out that it is not a Hulu Original series, but NBC does air its episodes on Hulu the day after (along with a number of other shows from other networks that were also on display).

Other shows on display included The Good Doctor, The Goldbergs, Castle Rock, and of course, Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Nine-Nine!). My personal favorite was Brooklyn Nine-Nine area, because it had the cummerbund that Jake (Andy Samberg) used to propose to Amy (Melissa Fumero).

Note that, with NBC readying its own streaming service (everyone’s doing it nowadays), some of these shows aren’t likely to remain on Hulu for long, but for now, here they stand.
Now, you can’t attend a Disney fan convention without running into some Star Wars. The show floor had plenty of things from that galaxy far, far away. Here are just a few, starting with these adorable mini Sith Troopers:

Below are some Star Wars costumes, old and new. I don’t know if I prefer the tiny, precious Sith Trooper or the dangerous-looking life-sized one:

And while we’re talking Star Wars, we can’t forget to mention The Mandalorian. How many of you saw that trailer? Incredible, right? Disney trotted out the costumes, as well:

I’m ready and here for Pedro Pascal as the Mandalorian, especially with this badass outfit.
One of my favorite parts of the D23 show floor (besides the Hulu Pavilion) was checking out the Disney’s Heroes and Villains exhibit. It featured costumes and props from some of the most iconic Disney movies, past and present.
No big deal, this is just Cinderella’s carriage from the 2015 remake starring Lily James:

A fan of Mary Poppins? Well, they had Emily Blunt and Julie Andrews’ original outfits from their respective versions of the movie (parasol and all)!

And of course, there were some villains, too, like Jafar with his snake staff. The attention to detail here is incredible!

Here’s a mix of the good and bad Disney has given us over the years. We see you in the background, Elsa:

This is just a tiny glimpse into this year’s D23 show floor, but I promise it was just as thrilling and riveting as these images suggest. The costumes were especially fun to look at, since there was also information on the designers and some trivia about the history.
