The Haunting of Hill House star Henry Thomas (Hugh Crain) returns for season 2

The Haunting of Bly Manor is the title of the second season of Netflix’s horror anthology series, The Haunting of Hill House. The series came into our lives back in October 2018 and inspired many of us to hide under our covers in fear. I’ll never forget binge-watching The Haunting of Hill House with my family as part of our Halloween plans.

Fast forward a year later, and now, we have The Haunting of Bly Manor to look forward to/dread. We don’t know a ton about the second season, but there is some recent casting news. As reported by Syfy Wire, Henry Thomas is returning for the second season. As with a couple other returnees, he will not be playing the same character as before (Hugh Crain, the patriarch of the unfortunate Crain family) and we have no idea what his role will be in the second season. If you haven’t heard, it’s a whole new story.

Based on the first season, I’m sure whoever Thomas plays, he will do a fine job. All I know is that he definitely scared the crap out of me. Plus, was it just me or did anyone else keep thinking about little Elliott from E.T. every time Thomas was on the screen? It’s weird to think they’re the same person.

Mike Flanagan, the creator of both The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, shared the news about Thomas on Twitter, and has promised that more news is coming!

The Haunting of Hill House was based on a novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson. The second season will be based on the novella The Turn of The Screw by Henry James. The novella was written in 1898, so it’s definitely going to be scary AF. There’s something about the late 1800s/early 1900s that just feels spooky, isn’t there?

Apart from Thomas, The Haunting of Hill House alums Victoria Pedretti and Oliver Jackson-Cohen will also return as new characters for The Haunting of Bly Manor when it returns sometime in 2020.

Can it be around Halloween time again? That was perfect timing for season 1.
