Starz reveals release date for Outlander season 5

Outlander fans, I am happy to report that the Droughtlander is officially coming to an end on February 16th, 2020. Yes, that’s right, STARZ has gone ahead and decided to kick off Labor Day weekend with the best news ever.
And with Outlander being a show about time-traveling romance, it’s only natural that the new season will kick off exactly two days after Valentine’s Day. Coincidence? I think not!
February 2020 feels like millennia away, and if we had access to our own set of Craigh Na Dun stones, I would gladly use them to hop into the future and watch the episodes early. Unfortunately, we’re fresh out and will need to suffer through the Droughtlander for a little bit longer.
But at least there’s an end in sight. Before too long, we’ll find out what Jamie plans to do about Murtagh. My prediction is Murtagh will be spending the bulk of his time in River Run. And if River Run is in the cards for season 5, then it means a whole lot more of Aunt Jocasta. I’m not sure if I’m excited or annoyed by that possibility, but if it means saving Murtagh’s life, then so be it.

Of course, the fifth season of Outlander has a lot more in store for fans, especially those of you who have read the books. We’ve got a set of twins, the arrival of a baby, and a whole new family dynamic heading our way — and I can’t wait!
Alright, Sassanechs, now you know to mark, highlight, and circle February 16th, 2020 on your calendars. Just 170 days, NBD.
