Watch the trailer for Disenchantment Part 2!
Disenchantment is a medieval comedy from Matt Groening, the guy behind The Simpsons and Futurama. It follows a princess who refuses to conform to her family’s expectations, instead befriending an elf and a demon and going on wacky misadventures. The show is returning for Part 2 later this month, and Netflix just dropped an official trailer:
Bean and Luci are literally going to hell to reunite with the dead Elfo, and will find time to deal with an evil queen bent on turning everyone to stone. Just another day in Dreamland.
Well, now we know Elfo really did die at the end of Part 1. I mean, it was pretty straightforward, right up until the surprise mid-credits scene where his lifeless body was picked up by someone whose face wasn’t shown. So there was hope the lil guy somehow made it. Is that a waste of a cliffhanger?
Not really. The show is wonderfully silly and probably shouldn’t be taken as seriously as something like Game of Thrones, even though it takes a bunch of cues from the current fantasy craze sweeping through TV.
Behind the ink, the voice cast from season 1 is returning for another go round with bend, with Abbi Jacobson as Princess Bean, Eric Andre as Luci, my personal favorite, and Nat Faxon as the dearly departed Elfo, who looks to be enjoying the afterlife very much.
Disenchantment Part 2 hits Netflix on September 20.
