Doctor Who: New Tenth Doctor vinyl now available at HMV!
By James Aggas
For Doctor Who vinyl collectors, make sure that you head down to HMV today, as a brand new, limited edition release of Tenth Doctor story Death and the Queen has become available!
Death and the Queen, featuring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, was originally released on CD and download back in 2016. Written by James Goss, it was – perhaps unsurprisingly, at least for fans familiar with Goss’s writing – a story that was a little bit strange and quirky, while also providing a lot of great banter and dialogue for Tennant and Tate.
Death and the Queen explores what happens when Donna – like many companions before her – leaves the Doctor for someone she’s only just met. Why? And why doesn’t it work out? Could it be because of an unexpected guest…?
"Donna Noble has never been lucky in love.So when, one day, her prince does come, she is thrilled to have the wedding of all weddings to look forward to. Though the Doctor isn’t holding his breath for an invitation. And her future mother-in-law is certainly not amused. But on the big day itself, Donna finds her castle under siege from the darkest of forces, marching at the head of a skeleton army. When it looks like even the Doctor can’t save the day, what will Queen Donna do to save her people from Death itself?"
Following the sell-out success of Big Finish Productions limited edition Doctor Who stories on vinyl records in HMV last year, the audio company has announced another exclusive collaboration. Limited release
Big Finish’s many Doctor Who vinyls have sold extremely well in the past. If they haven’t all sold out, they’ve certainly come close to it. (Rumor has it you can still find the occasional copy of Wave of Destruction.) Unsurprisingly, vinyls featuring Tennant stories seem to be particularly popular.
This latest release is expected to sell out very quickly, too. Like previous vinyls, Death and the Queen is another limited edition, with just 1,250 copies made. So better grab one (just one, no one likes an extortionate re-seller trying to capitalize on fans’ joy by buying and selling loads at higher prices) while you can!
