Doctor Who spin-off box set Bernice Summerfield: Buried Memories is out now!

Former Doctor Who companion Bernice Summerfield returns once more in a brand new box set of adventures, featuring David Warner as a Doctor from another universe and a whole team of completely new writers!
The latest box set to feature the brilliant archaeologist Bernice Summerfield is out now! Years after travelling with the Seventh Doctor in various Doctor Who novels – plus having her own series of adventures in both books and audios – Bernice is travelling with the Doctor once more in Buried Memories. But one that’s rather unfamiliar to our universe.
Once again, David Warner returns to play the Doctor from another universe. After establishing a great dynamic in The Unbound Universe and Ruler of the Universe, it’s great that Big Finish are continuing this Doctor’s and Bernice’s journey together. Especially since during the previous box sets, he had been given the unenviable position of “ruler of the universe”.
As you can imagine, he wasn’t particularly fond of the title, as it involved a lot paperwork and beauracracy. So when Benny was finally able to return home, he decided to join her. This gives Buried Memories an intriguing premise, as it will be a great opportunity to explore this Doctor actually being the Doctor once again.

Fresh talent
On top of that, this box set also features a team of completely new writers. Producer James Goss has revealed why such an exciting choice was made.
"Last year we ran a Bernice Summerfield short story competition with The Time Ladies. And we were so impressed by the finalists that we asked all of them if they wanted to write an episode for the next Benny box set. And luckily they said yes, coming up with a set of very different, very fresh ideas."
It’s fantastic that – over two decades after the company began – Big Finish still isn’t afraid of taking bold and exciting risks. The company features many fantastic writers that have been working there for a long time, so it’s great that it’s also finding new ways of bringing in fresh talent, too. This will certainly make Buried Memories an exciting box set to listen to.
