Kit Harington hangs out with new Eternals costar, and other celebrity news

With awards season in full swing, Game of Thrones stars are keeping busy. Let’s check in with a few.

First up: Kit Harington. At Disney’s D23 convention in August, we learned that he would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight, in Marvel’s The Eternals, which will reunite him with Game of Thrones costar Richard Madden.

Per Entertainment Weekly, filming has reportedly begun on the movie. At the least, Harington is spending time with another Eternals costar: Salma Hayek, who plays the Eternal Ajak. Hayek was thrilled to be “working with Jon Snow.”

While Harington works on his movie career, some of his Game of Thrones costars are getting ready for this weekend’s Primetime Emmy Awards…or whatever Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) is doing in the photo below:

He’s either about to go swimming or trying to do home Botox on himself. I’ll let you decide.

But it’s not all fun and games. Coster-Waldau, who does a lot of work advocating for environmental protection, teamed with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a video about climate change called, “The Biggest No-Brainer in the History of the World.” Watch below!

While the Primetime Emmys are airing this Sunday, September 22, the Creative Emmys took place last weekend. Carice van Houten (Melisandre) was in attendance, looking spectacular as always.

Unfortunately, van Houten did not win the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama for her part in “The Long Night,” but she took it in stride:

Van Houten, Coster-Waldau, Harington, and a bunch of other Game of Thrones cast members will all be presenting at this Sunday’s award show, by the way. See you there!

It looks like posting selfies is a recurring theme amongst Game of Thrones stars this week. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson — or as we know him, the Mountain That Rides — posted a throwback picture of himself on Instagram. It looks like it’s from the scene where the Mountain and the Hound finally battle it out.

Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) posted a picture of her baby clinging tightly to a season 8 water bottle. What’s wrong with that? Nothing at all…so long as the baby can’t read what’s written on her new sippy cup.

And finally, Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) look stunning in a photoshoot for Nylon Magazine.

This girl could wear a box on her head and make it look glamourous.
