The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a historic success, financially and otherwise. If you were going to pin that success on any one person, the most likely candidate is Kevin Feige. With the MCU having just wrapped up Phase 3, you’d think the Marvel Studios president would have his hands full with planning Phase 4, but here’s always room for a little something extra.

Speaking According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney exec Alan Horn revealed that Feige is about to get a whole lot busier. “With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”

In other words, Feige is going to bring some of that MCU magic to a galaxy far, far away.

Kennedy has been the president of Lucasfilm since 2012. She’s worked closely with the directors for each new Star Wars film since The Force Awakens in 2015, and has proven she’s not one to be trifled with. She brought in screenwriter Tony Gilroy to help director Gareth Edwards finish the third act of Rogue One. She fired directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller from Solo: A Star Wars Story and hired Ron Howard to finish it up, and let Colin Trevorrow go from Episode IX before he really got underway. Kennedy keeps a pretty tight leash on all things Star Wars.

It’ll be interesting to see how Feige and Kennedy work together, since they’re more on an equal playing field, each in charge of their own very successful divisions. Per THR’s sources, Kennedy remains in control of all things Star Wars, and we’re not sure how big a role Feige will play — is this a side project for him, or will have more say? According to one source, Feige has already told a “major actor” that he has a role in mind for them for whatever movie he’s working on.

The end of the Star Wars sequel trilogy is coming in December, but Disney has plenty more lined up. Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are still working on a new trilogy, as is The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.

Then there are the live-action Star Wars TV series coming to Disney+, including The Mandalorian, a Rogue One prequel and a show about Obi-Wan Kenobi starring Ewan McGregor. Whoever’s telling them, there are clearly plenty of stories left in the Star Wars universe.
