Amazon drops new poster for The Expanse season 4
By Dan Selcke
New York Comic Con is on, which means forthcoming announcements about a bunch of our favorite shows and movies! In the case of The Expanse, the beloved sci-fi conspiracy show cancelled by SyFy after its third season but picked up by Amazon for a fourth, congoers can even watch the upcoming season premiere on Saturday on the Javits Main Stage, a couple months before it drops along with the rest of the new episodes on December 13.
To make sure people hop on the hype train, Amazon has released a shiny new poster:
The Expanse season 4 poster
You’ve got Steven Strait as Jim Holden, Cas Anvar as Alex Kamal, Dominique Tipper as Naomi Nagata, Wes Chatham as Amos Burton, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Chrisjen Avasarala, and more. That’s a ring gate behind them. After spending the first three seasons trying to untangle the web of tensions between the Earthers, Martians, and Belters, our character will venture into uncharted territory in season 4, heading through a wormhole to colonize a new world, Ilus. The tensions between factions will definitely remain, but it’ll be on solid ground now.
All of it is based on the popular Expanse book series by James S. A. Corey, the joint pen name of authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. Abraham was George R.R. Martin’s personal assistant for a while, and indeed, the twisting stories of The Expanse should remind some fans of the clashing viewpoints in A Song of Ice and Fire.
This is the second poster Amazon has put out. The first:
And there’s a trailer:
Soon, information comes.
And as long we’re talking about upcoming sci-fi shows, Disney put out a new TV spot for The Mandalorian, the first-ever live-action Star Wars show. It doesn’t have any footage you didn’t already see in the full trailer, but it is shorter, because you’re busy and your time is valuable:
The Mandalorian premieres on November 12, along with Disney+ itself.
