Runtime for Star Wars: The Rise of Sywalker revealed?
We are hurtling ever closer to the theatrical release of the final installment in the Skywalker Saga: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. That means Disney is about to drop the final trailer for the film; in fact, there’s strong evidence that we’ll get it this upcoming Monday during Monday Night Football.
Meanwhile, the ever-watchful sleuths on the Star Wars Leaks subreddit are digging up more information about the movie. They’re come across The Rise of Skywalker showtimes at an unnamed theater, showtimes that appear to confirm how long the movie will run. Check it out:
"Showtimes for The Rise Of Skywalker are showing up now. from StarWarsLeaks"
I direct your attention to the top left corner, under the heading “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” where it says, “Runtime: 155.”
So there you go: The Rise of Skywalker will run for 155 minutes, or two hours and thirty-five minutes. For comparison, The Force Awakens was two hours and fifteen minutes, and The Last Jedi was two hours and thirty-two minutes. It’s the longest movie in the sequel trilogy. In fact, it’s the longest movie in the entire Star Wars saga.
But still, is that enough time for J.J. Abrams to wrap up a 40-year saga? The Russo brothers took just over three hours to cap off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Avengers: Endgame. Even if The Rise of Skywalker is the longest Star Wars movie yet released — and that includes offshoots like Solo and Rogue One — I worry it won’t be enough.
