A new Hocus Pocus movie is in the works at Disney+

Hocus Pocus is coming back into our lives, folks! Thanks to Disney+, we’re going to take a trip down memory lane with another Hocus Pocus film. According to Deadline, Disney will be bringing back the 1993 classic, but whether or not its a sequel is unclear.

I think I speak for a lot of us when I say, we would love a sequel with the original cast back to play their roles. I mean, who wouldn’t want the Sanderson Sisters back in their lives? We need Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy to reprise their roles…and maybe train a new batch of witches, or, you know, just get into all kinds of new trouble.

If you grew up in the 90s or were introduced to Hocus Pocus by someone that was, then you’re well aware of just how big this film was. This is exactly why Disney+ taking on this project is so darn exciting!

A couple of years ago, there was an attempt made by the Disney Channel to bring back the cult classic with a whole new cast, but things didn’t exactly pan out. And not to sound horrible, but I’m glad it didn’t because there is a good chance we could see the original cast return with the full backing of a large budget from the House of Mouse’s new streaming service, Disney+ (going live on November 12).

Apart from the fact that the movie is happening, we don’t really know anything else. But with Disney+ premiering next month, I’m sure we’ll know something more, soon enough. But for now, all I want is for the original Sanderson Sisters to return and that the new movie premieres on Halloween Day.
