Outlander season 5 will have some new faces when the series returns in February! The show’s official Twitter account broke the news:

The fifth season of Outlander will be based on the fifth book in Diana Gabaldon’s series, The Fiery Cross. Book fans should be jumping for joy to learn that we’re going to meet members of the Beardsley family. As everyone else will know why soon enough.

It was previously announced that the Beardsley twins would be in season 5, but it was unclear if one actor would play both roles or actual twins would be brought on. Now we know that actor Paul Gorman will play both brothers. They may have to employ some special effects trickery, but the search for the right actor must have been far easier.

Without giving too much away, the Beardsley twins have a connection with Lizzie, the handmaid who came with Brianna from Scotland. I’ll let the fifth season go ahead and reveal just what their connection is, but rest assured, it’s going to be an interesting.

Next up is actress Bronwyn James, who will be playing Fanny Beardsley. The story of Fanny is a heartbreaking one that will likely leave fans in tears if things play out in the series as they do in the book.

Finally, we learn that Chris Donald is returning as Philip Wylie. You may remember him from the season 4 premiere, where he attended a dinner at which both Jamie and Claire were present. There’s an odd dynamic between him and Claire in the books, and it’ll be interesting to see where the show takes it.
