The 50 most iconic looks from Game of Thrones
Little Wolf (season 8)
Arya’s attire during the last two seasons of Game of Thrones references both her Northern heritage and everything she’s been through since she saw her father die. At first glance, much of her style is reminiscent of Ned’s wardrobe during the first season of the show. And Arya’s always related more to her father than her mother, embodying attributes that are traditionally considered more masculine than feminine in the world of Westeros.
The leather doublet with the fur cloak over it is most certainly inspired by Ned, but her doublet also contains allusions to the House of Black and White. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the square pattern carved into the leather is incredibly similar to the pattern found on the doors of the House of Black and White.
And of course, Arya’s costume wouldn’t be complete without her weaponry. She’s got Needle sheathed on one side of her belt and Littlefinger’s Valyrian steel dagger on the other. And in some ways, these two weapons draw a line between the girl Arya was and the fighter she becomes. Needle is a gift from Jon, and thus representative of her childhood at Winterfell. The dagger represents the betrayal that shaped the Starks’ journeys, a tool used to bring their family low that repurposes to save the world.
