Daisy Ridley raps the Star Wars saga, J.J. Abrams talks Rise of Skywalker

We’re mere weeks away from the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and the movie’s cast and crew are hitting the interview circuit to talk it up. First on the docket: Daisy Ridley (Rey) stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where she was asked who was cuter: a porg or Baby Yoda.

Well, of course Baby Yoda is cuter, duh.

Ridley also talked about celebrity cameos in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, which is great. But the important bit is where she raps the entire Star Wars saga, from A New Hope to The Last Jedi:

So how did she do? I applaud the effort and we can leave it at that.

Next up, director J.J. Abrams talked about The Rise of Skywalker on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert:

Abrams confirmed that Rise is locked, meaning there’s no more editing to do and it’s ready to ship to theaters. He also revealed the first spoken word in the film is “at.” Please speculate responsibly.

Abrams goes on to talk about a message Carrie Fisher left him in her book, The Princess Diarist, where she thanked him for putting up with her twice. But as Abrams notes, he’d only ever worked with her once, on The Force Awakens. But it still kind of fits, because after Abrams took over directing duties on The Rise of Skywalker from Colin Trevorrow, he used older footage of Fisher to construct new scenes.

Finally, Abrams sat through some weird fan theory questions as a camera was trained on his face to see if it would betray signs of them being true.

“Kylo Ren was Keyser Söze the whole time.” Nailed it. I always like how nerd-friendly Colbert’s show is. I mean, did you see his Lord of the Rings parody the other week?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
