John Boyega’s Star Wars script ended up on eBay
On Monday, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams was on Good Morning America, where he told the story of an unnamed cast member who left their script under their hotel room’s bed. The script was found by someone from housekeeping, who then gave the script to someone who listed it on eBay. However, before it could be sold, Disney quickly retrieved the copy…possibly destroying the would-be seller’s life in the process, we don’t know that part. You don’t trifle with Mickey.
Anyway, everyone wanted to know who which member of the cast misplaced their script. Appearing on Good Morning America today, John Boyega (Finn) admitted that he was the culprit.
"I was moving apartments, and I left the script under my bed. I was like, I will leave it under my bed and when I wake up the next morning, I will take it and then move. But then my boys came over and we started partying a little bit. And the script, it just stayed there. And a few weeks after, this cleaner comes in, finds this script and puts it on eBay for like 65 pounds ($84). The person didn’t know the true value."
We assume and hope that one of his boys was Oscar Isaac, who plays Finn’s best friend forever Poe Dameron in the movies:
The internet is wonderful.
Anyway, Boyega was reprimanded by some higher-ups at Disney. “It was scary, I got calls from every official,” he remembered. “Even Mickey Mouse called me, ‘What did you do?'” Okay, Boyega’s Mickey Mouse impersonation is pretty spot on.
Also in Star Wars news, Baby Yoda merch is now on sale…but it’s pretty weak. Tech Crunch highlighted some of the unfortunate stuff bearing the likeness of the little green guy:
This clearly seems like Disney slapped some shirts together after it became clear that people would want stuff featuring Baby Yoda, which you’d like they would have foreseen, but nope. I think I’ll wait for the plush doll.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20, and you can catch each new episode of The Mandalorian every Friday, only on Disney+
