Doctor Who Series 12: Live cinema event to be screened in US theaters in January!

For one day only, Doctor Who fans in the US will get to see the opening two-part story for Series 12 on the big screen in January 2020!
If you live in the US and you haven’t seen Doctor Who on the big screen before, you’ll get your chance next month! On Jan 5 2020, the first two episodes of Series 12 will be shown across over 600 movie theaters. In fact, the second episode will be shown on the big screen before its US broadcast!
This will be an exciting opportunity for fans in the US. Many Doctor Who stories have been shown on the big screen before, thanks to both Fathom Events and BBC Studios. Classic stories like Genesis of the Daleks and Logopolis have been shown on the big screen as much as major event episodes from the New Series.
The fact that one of the episodes will be brand new certainly adds an extra incentive to see it. It also makes the opening two-part story for Series 12 sound even more promising, if the scale of it is big enough for the big screen. But that’s not the only incentive for fans to check out this event…
US fans will get to see the epic opening story Spyfall on the big screen next month!

Q&A
Along with the episodes themselves, the cinema event will also include a Q&A with Jodie Whittaker, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill. This will be broadcast live from The Paley Center in New York, making this event even more special.
This is definitely quite an impressive way to launch Series 12, at least in the US. Here’s hoping something just as special is planned in the UK. Personally speaking, seeing The Day of the Doctor on the big screen was an absolutely amazing experience, and I do hope that UK fans will get to experience something similar with the Thirteenth Doctor.
