Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will bring with it many new and exciting delights, among them a quartet of series on Disney+. Yes, like it or not, the MCU is coming to TV.
The first of these shows is The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is filming right now. You should be able to guess a fair amount the show based on the title. Anthony Mackie returns as the Falcon, aka Sam Wilson, the high-flying superhero gifted with Captain America’s shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame. And Sebastian Stan is on board as the Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes, Cap’s best friend and sometimes deadly enemy, depending on what movie we’re talking about.
But of course they aren’t the only two people in the cast. Other MCU transplants include Daniel Bruhl, reprising his role as Baron Zemo; and Emily VanCamp, who’s returning as Agent Sharon Carter. Then there’s newcomer Wyatt Russell, who’s playing U.S. Agent, a government-sanctioned superhero meant to replace Captain America.
And now Deadline reports that a couple of new actors have come aboard: Desmond Chiam, who played General Riga on the new-cancelled Shannara Chronicles show; and Miki Ishikawa, who played Amy Yoshida in AMC’s The Terror: Infamy.
Do we have any idea who Chiam and Ishikawa are playing? No we do not, although if these castings ring a bell for any superhero aficionados out there, your input is welcome. In the meantime, we’ll just try and piece together what the show involve based on set photos.
