The Wheel of Time cast and crew wrap on filming for the decade

Amazon has been great about giving us little peaks behind the curtain of its Wheel of Time adaptation, and now we’ve got one more to close out the year:

That’s star Josha Stradowski (Rand al’ Thor) surrounded by other members of the cast and crew. The tweet came from Australian actor Madeleine Madden (that’s her in the picture up top), who’s playing Egwene Al’Vere. And I believe that’s Zoë Robins (Nyneave al’Meara) behind Stradowski with her hands on either side of his head.

Anyway, it looks like The Wheel of Time team is getting along. And although they’re wrapping on filming for the decade, they’re not done shooting the first season, and should get back together in the new year. We have some rumors about how many episodes might be in that season, but nothing solid. Presumably, the first season will adapt the first book in the series, The Eye of the World. After that…well, there are 13 more books to get through, so all I can say is best of luck. The team is already working on season 2, so Amazon is in this for the long haul.

We probably won’t see The Wheel of Time drop on Amazon until 2021, maybe late 2020 at the earliest. With shows like The Witcher coming out, it’s high time for fantasy shows. Will The Wheel of Time be our next big TV obsession?
