There are two episodes yet to come in the CW’s epic Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. Dedicated fans know the agony of waiting out a month to find out what the heck is going to happen next. It’s been killing me, and I simply have to find out what is going to go down now that all the Earths have turned to dust and only the seven Paragons remain, safely placed in the Vanishing Point. (Quick refresher: the Vanishing Point is where the Time Bureau’s original headquarters were. To protect them against the Anti-Monitor, the Pariah whizzed away the seven chosen ones to this location.)
And now, we must wait to see what these seven very special individuals can do to restore the world as we once knew it. Can they even do that? How will they do it? And is there any chance they can bring back Oliver Queen in his original form? While I do think the Earths will be restored, something tells Oliver Queen might not make it out of this intact. But of course, we already knew that, didn’t we?
While we may not know much, thanks to the CW, we can now read the synopses for the final two hours of the Crisis. Based on these subtle descriptions, it sounds like things won’t ever go back to the way they once were.
Arrow: “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Four”
"Stuck in the Vanishing Point, the Paragons search for a way to escape. The futility of the situation is compounded by The Flash’s (guest star Grant Gustin) disappearance. However, hope appears in the form of Oliver (Stephen Amell), who reveals that he has become something else. Meanwhile, the origin stories for The Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) and Anti-Monitor are revealed. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Marv Wolfman & Marc Guggenheim."
Uh, why does The Flash disappear? Where did he go? Is he just running a victory lap because his show is the CW’s highest-rated series for the sixth straight year in a row?
And how does Oliver show up? I just hope the “something else” he’s become isn’t a bloodthirsty Oliver Queen devoid of any soul courtesy of the Lazarus Pit.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Four”
"Worlds lived, worlds died. Nothing will ever be the same. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu and Ubah Mohamed."
So, we’re definitely losing some Earths here. But which ones? I’m still gunning for the “everyone will live together on Earth-1” storyline.
These episodes will air back to back on January 12 and 15. Whatever happens, I’m really nervous. If the first three hours of the Crisis are any indication, we’d best brace ourselves.
