5. The return of the King of Hell/Crowley

The devilish but delightful fiend Crowley (Mark Sheppard) was introduced in season 5 and became an instant fan favorite, right up until his death in the season 12 finale, when he sacrificed himself as part of the spell to trap Lucifer in the alternate reality.

The 17th-century Scotsman with mommy issues turned King of the Crossroads turned King of Hell had a sublime love-hate (mostly hate) relationship with Squirrel (Dean) and Moose (Sam). Crowley’s return would be a joyous, welcome one.

Sheppard has expressed his frustration at the way Crowley’s story ended. While appearing on a panel at the  2018 New York Comic Con, he was asked if he’d return. “Why?” he asked. “I’ve done what I’ve done. I did good. I have new things to do. For God’s sake, face it, I’m dead! Wakey, wakey, they tried to kill me off for two years!”

So that’s a solid maybe, then?
