Westworld season 3 will be “big, crazy and even more ambitious”

Thank goodness it’s finally 2020, because now we can finally and officially say that Westworld will return for its third season this year. It’s been a ridiculously long hiatus, and it’s about time that the series makes its way back into our lives.

Westworld season 2 ended with a few of our main characters making their way out of the park and into the “real” world, our world. And it looks like they’re going to go cause a lot of trouble with a bunch of new characters, including Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul as Caleb, a construction worker who links up with Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores Abernathy, a robot who’s presumably as angry with humanity as ever.

In an interview with Men’s Journal, Paul opened up a bit about his character, touching on how he fits into the bigger picture. “[Caleb] has a point of view outside of the park,” Paul said. “He takes the audience outside of Westworld and what it’s like to live amongst the people who created [it] and sort of where we’re at as a society.”

I don’t know about you, but the thought of the story leaving Westworld itself behind makes me nervous. Will this completely change the dynamic and vibe the show is known for?

We won’t know the details for a while, but according to Paul, the new season is “big and crazy and even more ambitious than last season,” so at least the show is still shooting for the stars.

To be honest, season 2 disappointed me a little, so I hope the one proves as exciting as he says. Aaron Paul being around can only be a plus. By the way, apparently Paul was supposed to be in the first season of the show, but he had prior commitments so it didn’t happen.

"I was just so deep into negotiations on this other show and the logistics couldn’t work out. And then they approached me again for this third season and I was actually deep into negotiations on this other show, so I was reliving the same moment in my life again! I was stressing out because I had to turn Westworld down the first time around."

It looks like things managed to work out, and soon enough, we’ll get to see Aaron Paul doing his thing as the war between man and machine gets underway.
