American Horror Story isn’t going anywhere for a long time
By Ariba Bhuvad
American Horror Story fans, it’s time to rejoice, because this Ryan Murphy series is not going anywhere. Speakings on the TCAs press tour, FX president John Landgraf announced that the show has been renewed for three more seasons, and that doesn’t count season 10, which is still on the way.
Now, I’m a huge Ryan Murphy fan, but this multi-season renewal has got me wondering…are they sure about this? The last few years of American Horror Story haven’t been up to par with some of the earlier ones. I mean has anything ever really matched Asylum or Murder House?
It was a bigger letdown when the big crossover season came and went with very little to write home about. And then came 1984, which was a step up from what were getting before but still not up to par with what we remembered. But hey, at least the season was set in the 1980s; who doesn’t love neon and film grain?
Regardless of what I think, someone out there believes in the show and isn’t ready to let it go just yet. Interestingly enough, Murphy isn’t even with FX/FXX/Fox/Disney, etc. anymore, but American Horror Story (and American Crime Story) is as strong as ever. Murphy himself is basking in the well-deserved glory of his new Netflix shows. You all catch The Politician? Wasn’t it great?
Naturally, I’m extremely curious about what the next four seasons of AHS have in store for us. I just hope they don’t let lose the thread.
