So…we might still get Marvel shows on ABC?

Marvel is confusing — really confusing. And let me tell you why. Over the past year or so, Marvel shows have been canceled/ended on Netflix, ABC, Freeform and Hulu. And this made sense, considering Disney+ was coming and the company understandably wanted that to be the one-stop shop for things Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, etc.

But now, I’m sitting here scratching my head, because according to Deadline, Marvel boss Kevin Feige is in early talks for a new ABC superhero show. Wait, what? Didn’t they just cancel/end Runaways and Cloak & Dagger? And isn’t Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. going to air its seventh and final season? And didn’t Marvel TV just get absorbed by Marvel Studios?

Wasn’t Disney+ supposed to be the home for…all their content?

Apparently not.

ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke had something to say on the topic. We’re curious to see where these “talks” are going.

"We love our partners at Marvel and we’re sad to see [Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D] go, it’s been a big part of our history. We’re looking forward to working with Kevin Feige and we’re at the very beginning of conversations with him now about what a Marvel and ABC show might look like. Right now, Marvel’s focus has been on Disney+, as it should be."

Don’t we already know what a Marvel and ABC show looks like?

Disney+ has some incredible MCU shows coming down the pipeline, including The Falcon and the Winter SoldierWandaVision and Loki. It seems like they have things covered, so I’m curious why Disney would open things up to other networks when it wound down the projects already underway.
