George Lucas cradles Baby Yoda in his arms, breaks internet

Drum roll, please:

That’s it. That’s the post.

Okay, my editor said I can’t just leave it at that, so let’s elaborate. This is George Lucas, the Creator himself, cuddling Baby Yoda, the cutest thing to hit pop culture since Charlie bit his brother’s finger. Baby Yoda stole the hearts of Star Wars fans everywhere from his first appearance at the end of The Mandalorian’s premiere episode, before going on to win over even battle hardened warriors like Cara Dune, Greef Karga and of course, the Mandalorian himself.

Shared by The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau, the image warmed the hearts of even the most die-hard Lucas haters, proving once again that Baby Yoda’s cuteness can conquer all.

And while performers on The Mandalorian might have been nervous to “handle” the puppet due to its rumored high price tag, Lucas looks right at home. He did sell Star Wars to Walt Disney for over four billion dollars, so I guess there’s no reason for him to be nervous.

Obviously, Twitter explode after Favreau posted the image, with more than a few commenters putting themselves in the shoes of the unnamed crew member grinning in the background:

Oh to have been there for that moment…

Production on season 2 of The Mandalorian is currently underway, with an expected release this fall on Disney+. More Baby Yoda we need.
