The Witcher Game of Thrones The Mandalorian Doctor Who
From Baby Yoda to Wolverine to Doctor Who, how old are some of our favorite characters in sci-fi and fantasy, and can anything in the real world match them? Our friends at Treated.com investigate.
Whether we like it or not, we all have to confront the fact that we age and life doesn’t last forever. The global rate of life expectancy stands at roughly 71 years. Some of us will be fortunate enough to far surpass this, and despite an entire industry built on concepts like ‘anti-aging’ and youthfulness, we will still all grow old.
But what about those who are not bound by the restrictions of time, or indeed mortality? Those who exist in the realms of science fiction and fantasy?
Some of our most beloved characters from comics, books, TV and film are well over 100 years old and still alive. But how far away is this from real life? Perhaps not as far as you think. While everlasting life is not a possibility right now, some of the physical factors that make fictional characters immortal are present (in some way or another) within our own world. To find out more, we at Treated.com took a look at some of oldest characters in the history of popular science-fiction and gave our take on how plausible they are (or could be in the future).
