Moving away from the new shows for a moment, February will also see the return of Starz’s juggernaut series, Outlander. Yes, that’s right, the Droughtlander is almost over, and next season looks like it’s packed with more conflicting loyalties and twisty plotlines than ever before.

Season 5 of Outlander is based on The Fiery Cross, the fifth book in Diana Gabaldon’s series. This piece of the story sees the Frasers take part in the beginnings of the American Revolution, and that’s pretty exciting considering that Jaime is sworn to help the wrong side, and that if they prevent the bloodshed they might unmake the America of the future. I said it was twisty, didn’t I?

Season 4 of Outlander was as strong as ever, and brought Claire and Jaime’s daughter Brianna and son-in-law Roger into the time-traveling loop. It had some brutal moments (as Outlander always does), as well as some real feel-good points, like the wrap-up for the plotline involving Jaime’s nephew Ian in the finale.

It goes without saying that anticipation is high for this season. Luckily, Outlander begins airing on Starz on February 16 at 8:00 p.m. The wait is almost over!
