Con of Thrones is the world’s premiere convention for all things Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire (and this year, I imagine, for House of the Dragon). I’ve been all three years and I’ve loved it every time. From the guests to the parties to the cosplay to the talks, it’s always a ton of fun.
The lifeblood of the con is the talks. Whether they’re given by celebrity guests (visitors this year include Iain Glen and Anton Lesser) or by fans, they’re my favorite part. For example, here I am at Con of Thrones 2019 blah blah-ing about how Game of Thrones changed TV alongside other esteemed panelists:
And it’s worth reminding everyone out there that the organizers are accepting programming ideas! Here’s how the Con of Thrones website puts it:
"Do you have a presentation, paper, panel, or workshop on a subject related to Game of Thrones or A Song of Ice and Fire? Do you have a particular theory about Tyrion being a Targaryen, a presentation on dragon lore, or an in-depth character study of Theon Greyjoy? We welcome all kinds of proposals from informal discussions to formal academic presentations. If you have a burning desire to share your ideas and research, this is the place to tell us about it so we can help you make it happen!"
Submit your ideas here!
This year’s con will go down on July 17-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Get your tickets here!
