The Witcher season 2: Henry Cavill is riding Roach again
By Dan Selcke
Filming on The Witcher season 2 has begun! All the signs are there. We’re seeing new casting info, juicy rumors are flying, and now, star Henry Cavill himself has posted some images and video of himself back in action with an old friend.
Cavill, of course, plays Geralt of Rivia, the titular witcher who travels the Continent fighting monsters. But he doesn’t do it alone. Always at his side is his trusty steed Roach, who sometimes is the only person Geralt can talk to. Don’t judge him; he doesn’t have a lot of friends.
Anyway, Cavill has started to upload pictures of himself with the beautiful animals behind Roach. Take a look:
Wait, who has to be told how to pronounce Zeus?
“The mighty, the glorious, the powerful, and the kind, like a king of ancient myth….this is Hector.” Wow, Henry Cavill likes horses.
The way Cavill is talking, it sounds like Zeus is the horse who actually “plays” Roach on the show, but he trains on multiple horses to build up skills. Although I imagine they could switch out Zeus for another brown horse and not a lot of people would notice. Oh my god, could they dye Hector’s hair brown and have him step in? Is that a thing that happens?
I’m overthinking it. Finally, here’s a video of Cavill, Zeus and Hector all out on the road together:
Let’s get Zeus nominated for an Emmy.
As for when we’ll see man and beast back in action, it looks like the earliest it could happen is 2021.
