Emily Swallow is the Armorer in THE MANDALORIAN, exclusively on Disney+

Will The Armorer return?

As one of the most enigmatic and mysterious characters introduced so far, the powerful female Armorer (Emily Swallow) is all but certain to return in season 2. Like a queen bee, she is the natural gathering point for the scattered Mandalorian mercenaries (the covert), both in terms of organization and religion.

The Armorer and her sacred forge were originally sequestered at the center of the secretive Mandalorian enclave on Nevarro, where she performed the duties of her position as a blacksmith-priest. She also appears to be in contact with other elements of the furtive Mandalorian diaspora, including taking bounty hunter donations to help fund the Mandalorian Foundlings, the orphan group that raised Mando.

It seems like the Armorer may remain a largely mysterious figure, but we’ll slowly get to understand her better if the show explores the Mandalore culture in more depth, which we certainly hope it does.

True, when last we left her, she was under assault by Moff Gideon’s hired hands, but she seemed more than capable of taking care of herself. Plus, we didn’t see her die, which leads us to believe that the show yet has plans for her. And it would just be a travesty if the super-mysterious Armorer didn’t return, suffused as she is with a fascinating mix of Mandalorian, shamanistic, armor-cult blacksmith powers and butt-kicking hand-to-hand battle prowess. She’s definitely coming back.
