David Benioff and Dan Weiss interviewed for ‘On Story’ season 10

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss will be interviewed during the tenth season of the Austin Film Festival’s On Story, reports the Austin American Statesman. On Story is a weekly series that features behind-the-scenes interviews with some of the most most influential people in television and film.

Airing on Austin, Texas’ PBS station — as well as public TV across the United States — season 10 of the show will feature 17 episodes, all of them filmed at the 26th annual Austin Film Festival at 2019, where Benioff and Weiss received the Outstanding Television Writer award. Other interviewees include Lulu Wang (The Farewell), Craig Mazin (Chernobyl), David Mandel (Veep), Sofia Alvarez (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch (G.L.O.W.).

The last Austin Film Festival happened in October of last year, well after Game of Thrones ended and Benioff and Weiss had time to absorb the much-publicized blowback to the final season. Most of that blowback was directed at Benioff and Weiss themselves, and they’ve made precious few appearances to discuss it. And given some of the acrimony out there, who can blame them? It’ll be interesting to hear what they have to say in this forum, and to hear their perspectives given at a time when the anger was still burning pretty hot.
