The Walking Dead deleted a “funny” Eugene sex scene

The Walking Dead actor Lindsley Register has revealed that she filmed a “funny” sex scene with Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene, only for the scene to be removed from the final edit.

If you’re not caught up with season 10 yet, be warned that SPOILERS lurk below!

In the latest episode, “Stalker,” we saw the devastating solo invasion of Alexandria by Beta. He went full Michael Myers during the attack, killing off several characters, including former Saviour Laura, played by Register.

Speaking to The Independent about saying goodbye to Laura, whom she played for 20 episodes, Register said she could see the inevitable coming for a while. “Obviously I wanted more for Laura – I would have loved to see more – but I know that when she moved to Alexandria, she did become more of a secondary character.”

But at least Laura didn’t go down without a fight. “I was thrilled to die fighting one of the scariest villains we’ve had on the show so far,” she said.

Now that Laura is dead, Register was able to speak about scenes she filmed that never made it to air. “There were scenes of me and Rosita starting to become friends, where she and I kill zombies together,” Register revealed. “I save her life at one point. And we filmed a really fun scene where me and Eugene get it on.”

"One day I’m on set and our director is like, ‘I can’t tell you why but you’re gonna love the next episode’s script.’ I get it and there’s this scene where Eugene’s in the Saviours’ compound and the walkers have got in. I think we’re gonna die so I come into his room and we have sex. I’m like, ‘Don’t think too highly of this – I’m only doing it because we’re gonna die.’ He’s all shaken. it was so funny."

Co-executive producer Corey Reed shared a little more info about the scenes on Twitter, touching on how funny it was to write.

Now I feel robbed that we didn’t get to hear what else Eugene would say.

Eugene is set to return to action in the next episode of season 10, after being left out of episodes one and two. You can catch The Walking Dead season 10 Sundays on AMC.
