Ryan Murphy releases cryptic teaser image from American Horror Story season 10
By Ariba Bhuvad
We have our first teaser image of American Horror Story season 10 thanks to creator Ryan Murphy, and we have no idea what it means. Nine seasons in, we’ve seen it all, from a mental asylum to a 1980s summer camp to a witch coven.
Based on the image Murphy release, it looks like we’re settling seaside for season 10. We see a gloomy, cloudy sky with ocean waves in the background…with two hands grasping the edge of a cliff.
But is there a human body attached to these pairs of hands? A zombie? Nothing? They don’t look like zombie hands, but you never know.
We can theorize until we turn blue in the face, but my gut feeling says we’re going to get an aquatic horror story in season 10. Just think about it. We haven’t had a season of American Horror Story that’s anywhere near water, and it could be time to change that. Maybe there will be a Lovecraftian angle, with sea beasts rising from the deep?
Maybe we’re dealing with killer mermaids! Knowing the way Murphy does things, it’s not really out of the realm of possibility.
Taking a quick look at Twitter, there are a lot of unconfirmed, unofficial reports about season 10.
Some are claiming it will be filmed in Provincetown, Massachusetts, that it will be based in a beach town overcome by supernatural occurrences, and so on so forth.
Again, these are not confirmed reports and nothing has been officially announced from Murphy or FX itself, but it’s always fun to talk about possibilities. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what Murphy continues to tease in the days to come.
