Disney recently held a meeting of its shareholders, which always comes along with some interesting reveals. For instance, at this latest meeting, the company showed off some footage from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, its upcoming Disney+ series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The show, as you can expect, follows the adventures of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, aka Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). When last we left our heroes in Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed the title of Captain America onto Wilson. But we also know the show will involve another character, U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), who’s sort of the government-approved successor to Captain America. If you’ll remember, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier are still fugitives from the law following the events of Captain America: Civil War.

So clearly, these two will be up against it on the show. And apparently they’re having interpersonal problems, too! Although the footage shown at the Disney shareholder meeting hasn’t actually appeared online, according to ComicBook.com, it featured Bucky telling Sam that they aren’t friends. He goes on to say that although they need to work together, their only connection is that they were both tight with Steve Rogers.

Okay, I have two points here:

  1. Yeesh, Bucky, tone is down some? You guys are superhero fugitives from justice together; surely you can find some solidarity. Wait, is Bucky just jealous that Steve didn’t give the shield to him in Endgame? Let the healing begin!
  2. These two may not be friends at the start of the series, but if they aren’t palling around by the end, I’ve never seen a buddy cop movie.

We’ve also learned that the villain Baron Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl) will be returning for the series. If you don’t remember, he’s the guy who drove the Avengers apart in Civil War, and was last seen getting lock up under heavy guard. But I’m sure a clever guy like him has lots of ways to escape and cause more mischief.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been suffering some production setbacks of late courtesy of the Coronavirus, but is still slated for a release date in August.

Next. CD Projekt will start work on a new Witcher game this year. dark
