Ten more genre shows to binge over the weekend

3. Into the Badlands
When it comes to post-apocalyptic fare, there are so many options it can be hard for new series to stand out in any way. But one that rises above the crowd is AMC’s Into the Badlands.
An enormous part of what makes the show so unique is that it melds your more typical post-apocalypse style with the sensibilities and action of a Kung Fu flick. The fight scenes have top-notch choreography, with actors flying through the air, doing flips, clashing blades and slicing people up, all in over-the-top gruesome fashion.
The result is a show that is entertaining to a fault. Into the Badlands‘ plot about a warrior who goes rogue in order to protect a boy with special powers isn’t shockingly new or interesting, but the execution is hard to look away from. Add to that the fact that it’s got some great acting from the likes of Daniel Wu, Emily Beecham, and Nick Frost, and it’s a shoo-in for binge-watching.
All three seasons of Into the Badlands are available on Netflix.
